Jeremy was educated at Aberdare Boys' Grammar School and the City of Birmingham Polytechnic. He was called to the Bar in 1984 and initially practised in the Cayman Islands after his pupillage. Whilst there he undertook a busy and diverse practice in offshore trusts, commercial and common law, and defended three capital murder cases. He returned to Cardiff and private practice in 1990
Jeremy has been a CPS Grade IV prosecutor for over ten years and acts on behalf of SOCA as well as the CPS in homicide, serious drug and sexual offences and in particular offending involving children and vulnerable persons.
Jeremy has a wide ranging defence practice in all aspects of criminal law and appears in police disciplinary tribunals and Coroners' Courts.
He was appointed a Recorder of the Crown Court in 2008.
Jeremy appeared for the Defendant in the case of R v. B (2003) 2Cr. App R 13, which dealt with the question of delay in historical sex abuse cases.
