Clare was educated in Neath and Cardiff and called to the Bar in 2000.
She quickly established a practice in serious and sensitive criminal defence matters. For example, she has defended historic familial sexual abuse cases, in one case involving a 25-year span of abuse; in child cruelty cases; and represented a student accused of sexual assault upon a teacher. She has appeared for professionals accused of criminal misconduct, including fraud by a solicitor.
Clare also has a specialist prosecution practice and acts for the Royal Mail, Companies House, the DWP and for local authorities. She has expertise in ASBO law, in trading standards and in Health and Safety matters, appearing for the Prosecution in proceedings arising from the sale of contaminated meat that caused the second biggest e coli outbreak in Britain.
