A founding member of Apex, Chris was educated in Cardiff and Cambridge and called to the Bar in 1996. He undertook mixed pupillage in Civil and Crime and has carved a career in serious crime including Homicide, Fraud, Sexual and Violent Assaults, Regulatory crime and drug offences. He is recommended by the Legal 500 for 2009 for fraud work. His notable cases include

R v Margaret Evans - Prosecution of a head teacher for assaulting a pupil and subsequent appeal. A high profile case which attracted substantial nationwide media coverage.

R v Thompson and others (Operation Corolla)- Leading Junior for the defence in a large Class A drug conspiracy involving Jamaican gangs.

R v Jeffrey Ghaffour - Defence Counsel in a high profile murder. This case involved the death of Lynette White. It was the culmination of an investigation which had spanned many years and included the notorious wrongful convictions of 3 defendants known as the "Cardiff Three".

R v Alexander - Court of Appeal guideline case on the level of sentencing for racially aggravated offences.

R v Kelly and others- Junior Counsel alone in a serious Customs and Excise fraud trial lasting 3 months involving the laundering of fuel and evasion of duty across Northern Ireland, England and Wales.

R v Nikolai and others - Junior Counsel in a high profile fraud case arising out of the collapse of First Vehicle Contracts a nationwide car leasing company.

R v Gregory Davies (Operation Reptile)- Leading Junior in a large Amphetamine and Cannabis conspiracy case centred around the South Wales Valleys.

R v Stephen Lipinski and others - High profile Customs and Excise VAT carousel fraud valued at over £100 million. The trial in this case lasted 9 months.
