Nicholas Gedge

Nick took an MA from Cambridge and studied at the Royal Academy of Music before being called to the Bar in 2000. He has developed particular specialisation in regulatory crime and disciplinary work; he is a member of the Attorney-Genertal's Panel of Prosecuting Advocates, appearing for the Environment Agency, the BERR and the DWP; he defends doctors in Criminal and disciplinary proceedings.

Notable cases include
GMC v Dr R: defence of doctor at GMC Fitness to Practise Panel regarding allegations of misconduct in the running of a care home;
GMC v Dr A: defence of doctor at GMC Fitness to Practise Panel in connection with misappropriation of and authorised use of clinical and academic research;
GMC v Dr B: defence of doctor at GMC Fitness to Practise Panel in relation to ill health and criminal convictions;
GMC v Dr C: defence of doctor at GMC Fitness to Practise Panel in connection with the obtaining of and sending of medication to relatives overseas.
Re Bates: representation of prison doctor in inquest regarding death of female prisoner;
Re Bracey: representation of police doctor regarding death in police custody following restraint of a prisoner;
Re Green: representation of prison doctor in month long inquest into death of serving prisoner.
