Lee was called to the Bar in 2002. He quickly developed a considerable practice in Crime, specialising in prosecuting and defending all aspects of Regulatory Law with a particular emphasis on Trading Standards.
He is frequently involved in advising individuals and companies on "Due Diligence" systems, and has experience advising local authorities on case management, preparation and prosecution.
Regular areas of work include the 1994 Trade Marks Act, prosecuting Wales´ largest case concerning conspiracy to sell counterfeit merchandise; the 1968 Trade Descriptions Act, being regularly involved in cases concerning the prosecution and defence of company directors under Section 20; food and food safety, including the prosecution of large supermarkets on behalf of numerous local authorities for food safety, food labelling, pricing and other consumer protection offences; and generally other consumer protection.
Lee has developed a concomitant specialism in matters under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and regularly lectures to local authorities and solicitors concerning the same. He benefits from a close working relationship with the Asset Recovery Agency and several Regional Asset Recovery Teams. He is also experienced in civil recovery cases.
Lee has a practice in liquor Licensing under the 1964 and 2003 Acts, advising and representing individuals and companies in all aspects of liquor licensing, PELs, nightclubs, etc., and underage sales; he has acted for local authorities in their licensing capacity in respect of private hire vehicles and hackney carriages.
Lee has expertise in "stand alone" Anti Social Behaviour Orders acting on behalf of local authorities and police in the Magistrates Court.
In addition regularly applies for emergency injunctive relief from anti social behaviour of local authority tenants under the Housing Act 1996 in the civil courts as well as dealing with breach thereof.
