Nick Gareth Jones

Nick was called in 1970, appointed an assistant recorder in 1997 and a Recorder in 1999.

Nick's practice is exclusively Crime and regulatory Crime. He is a Grade 4 CPS Prosecutor and has prosecuted for local authorities, the Post Office, the RSPCA, and for Customs.

Nick's notable cases include:

R v Pearson (2006) Junior alone, prosecuting murder which on conviction saw the first use of HM Courts Service's Victim Advocacy Scheme;

R v Reilly and Others (2006) (Operation Reptile) VHCC Defence of alleged main drug dealer supplying large quantities into South Wales from the Midlands;

R v Sheen and Others (2005) (Operation Washer) Leading Prosecution Junior in professional car cloning operation valued in excess of £1million;

R v Berry and Others (2003) (Operation Corolla)Prosecution junior in drugs case involving importation and distribution of heroin and cocaine by illegal Jamaican immigrants and associated money laundering.
