Rebecca Oakley

Rebecca was called to the Bar in 2005 and is a member of Gray’s Inn.She was graded as ‘Outstanding’ and was awarded the Angel Chambers Award for Criminal Practice on completion of the Bar Vocational Course in 2005, at Cardiff Law School.

Rebecca has been instructed in a wide variety of cases in the Crown and Magistrates’ Courts and has represented the Crown Prosecution Service, the Probation Service and Serco Monitoring, Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, and the Department of Work and Pensions. Rebecca has also defended various clients in the criminal courts, including police officers.

Rebecca is currently a Grade 2 Prosecutor for the CPS. She was disclosure junior in Operation Rhino, an investigation into misconduct in public office by a number of serving Gwent police officers. This involved the examination over several months of many thousands of pages of material gathered over nearly two years, and consideration of issues of Public Interest Immunity.


Rebecca’s many interests include active involvement in her church, regular use of the French language, theatre, frequent travel and a variety of sports including running and climbing.
