Clare is respected for her thorough preparation and ability to engage with witnesses.

She is a persuasive jury advocate in the most sensitive of cases. Clare’s extensive criminal practice involves all areas of general crime with particular emphasis on serious

sexual offences and child cruelty. Her cases often involve multiple defendants and allegations that are historic, and involve witnesses with various vulnerabilities including

age and/or mental incapacity.

Clare has extensive experience in representing serving police officers in both criminal allegations and misconduct hearings and has successfully appeared in the Police Appeal Tribunal.

 

Clare is also regularly instructed by the Police Federation in inquests following deaths in custody.
 

Clare prosecutes on behalf of a number of local authorities in the Crown Court. Her areas of expertise include trade mark contravention, consumer protection and food safety. In addition she lectures local authorities on food safety prosecutions.
 

Clare is accredited by the Bar Council to undertake Direct Access work.
