Aliyah Hussain

Aliyah was called to the Bar in 2020 and joined Chambers in 2024, after completing her pupillage under the supervision of Andrew Kendall and John Ryan.

​

Aliyah accepts instructions in all Chambers’ practice areas. She regularly defends and prosecutes on behalf of the Local Authorities, Crown Prosecution Service, South Wales Police and Gwent Police in a wide range of cases within the Crown Court, Youth Court and Magistrates Court. She has also developed a strong practice in professional discipline, regularly appearing in Fitness to Practice proceedings.

Aliyah studied Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies at St Hilda’s College Oxford before completing the GDL at the University of Law in Bloomsbury, London. She completed the BPTC at the University of West England and received the Bristol Law School Prize for best overall performance in the cohort.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Aliyah qualified as a Fellow of CILEX and developed a strong practice in professional discipline, regulatory law and inquests at Legal 500 firms. She also worked as an in-house advocate in professional disciplinary hearings.
